On the 22nd of February at Salihara, it was announced at the press conference that Pop Up Market is officially back for Spring 2017 at Lotte Kuningan on the 9th to the 12th of March. Pop Up Market is more than an ordinary Bazaar, it is a non-profit local bazaar held by Prasetiya Mulya University’s students, with a unique theme each year. Following up on its tradition, Pop Up Market brings you a new theme that will highlight the nuance of the iconic street “Negen Straatjes”.
The Press event begun with an introduction by Bapak Rudy Handoko, Ari Ramadhan as the Chairman of Student Board, and Gemilang Rachmad as the Chairman of Pop Up Market 2017. Pak Rudy introduced us to why Pop Up Market is such an important event for Indonesia’s creative industry as he explained, “Potensi Pasar Luar Biasa, Dapat memboost brand activation”. Ari Ramadhan also stated that “Mahasiswa dapat mengembangka soft skills mereka, dan juga Pop Up adalah acara not-for-profit dan untuk entrepreneur di Indonesia”.
The Pop Pre-event called the “Pop Up Cultivation” is divided into three agendas, which are Pop Up Talk, Fashion Show, and Pop Up Gathering. The pre-event was attended by tenants and several influential Public Figures such as Ari Juliano Gema, the Deputy of HKI Facilitation and Regulation of Creative Economy, who discussed Indonesia’s Creative Industry Inside-Out and the Development Progress of Today’s Creative Industry, Arief Satyoubudi, the Associate Creative Director of Red Communication, and also Rosiana Halim, the Managing Director of Bobobobo.
Overall, the pre-event has been not only a marvelous experience but also an enlighting one, where local brand lovers could exchange their inside towards what is truly happening to the Indonesian market- a great way to officially start Pop Up Market 2017.
