Dressing up and partying the night away may be your to-go-thing every Halloween night, but if you’re ever looking for a change on what else to do, a thematic night run just might be the thing for you party people.
Swiss German University recently held their annual October Fest – a term adapted and derived from the traditional German culture, often referred to as Oktoberfest. The event was held in SGU’s campus in BSD, Tangerang, from the 3rd up till the 31st of October 2015. October Fest is made up of several other programs, namely the External Cup (Futsal, Basketball, FIFA, DOTA), and Food Day (Cooking Competition, Food Tech Exhibition, Bazaar, Food Truck). On the last day of the event, on the 31st itself, things ended with a blast as a Halloween Run was held. Acting as the first thematic Halloween Run in Indonesia, it certainly did not disappoint. The run offers a fun run concept that is exhilaratingly packed to surely get your adrenaline rushing. This Halloween 5K Run is also the pioneer of a Halloween run set in dead of the night. Just before the exploration, runners are firstly given a brief rundown of the night’s operations. Besides having to ‘hold on’ to their life tags from the undead, greedy hands of the 100 zombies, runners are also obliged to accomplish missions from various posts; such as stealing a coin from the Zombie Post, snatching a talisman from a vampire in the Oriental Post, and last but not least uploading a selfie with an Indonesian ghost right before the finish line.
October fest 2015’s highlight was during the closing ceremony, in which DJ Mahesa and Abdul and the Coffee Theory performed their hit singles. In the midst of awesome music to dance to, good food, and great company, this night is one night you definitely do not want to miss!
