It all started a week into quarantine when my boredom peaked to the point that I was willing to cook something just so that I can have something other than schoolwork to do. Mind you, I have never cooked anything more than fried eggs and instant noodles, so if I can make these, I can almost guarantee that you can too. But for the sake of some people that have never even boiled water, I’ve divided the three recipes into categories of easy just so that everyone can make something. So get to the kitchen and scroll down for three easy recipes categorized into levels of easy.
Easy-Easy
4 Ingredient Peanut Butter cookies
yields 8 or more cookies
What you need:
270 grams of peanut butter
200 grams (or less) of sugar
1 egg
However much chocolate chip or whatever toppings you want.
What to do:
- Mix everything in a bowl.
- Divide into cookie mounts
- Place said mounts on a piece of baking paper on a baking tray, giving some space in between mounts.
- Bake for eight minutes at 170 degrees celsius
- Cool the cookies or eat it warm
Just-Easy
Tomato Pasta when you don’t have jarred sauce
yields 4 servings
What you need:
A can of tomatoes
4 cloves of garlic ( minced )
Two tbsp butter
One tbsp olive oil or any kind of neutral-flavored oil
Half an onion ( finely chopped )
What to do:
- Heat the garlic and onion in the butter and oil just until it becomes translucent.
- Add the can of tomatoes and cook for about five minutes.
- Meanwhile, boil your pasta to your liking, about ten minutes.
- Add pasta and a little pasta water to the sauce and toss to combine.
Kinda-Easy
Churros
yields 10 servings
What you need:
250 ml water
120 ml butter (melted)
Pinch of salt
160 g flour
3 eggs
Oil to fry
Sugar and cinnamon to coat churros in
What to do:
- Combine water, butter, and salt over medium heat and boil.
- Add flour and mix until combined overheat until the mix forms into a ball and remove from heat.
- Leave it alone for 5 minutes to cool down.
- Add eggs one at a time to the dough ball and mix to combine.
- Heat oil in a saucepan to deep fry.
- Spoon dough into a plastic bag and snip one of the corners.
- Pipe dough into hot oil and fry until golden brown.
- Coat the still hot fried churro with the sugar and cinnamon mixture.
