Dear fellow bookworms, how is your reading routine lately? Remember that the whole world has been sad for the last few years because a deadly virus has spread widely and eaten away many lives on this earth. Not only that, some places were forced to close to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus, including libraries or bookstores, which of course have become our second home.
The pandemic has indeed made things a little bit complicated, such as shipping costs that go up when you want to buy a physical book online. Of course, this is not a “good news” for us as book lovers. Because of this, we have to switch from physical books to e-books. However, not everything about e-books is terrible!
To my fellow book lovers out there, there is nothing to be sad about because we have a “fun” solution for this. Yes, as you can see from the photo above, Kindle is one of many solutions for us as book lovers to handle this situation. So, what is Kindle? Kindle is a device that devoted to reading digital books. This device was first released by Amazon on November 19, 2007.
But isn’t that device too old and lame to use now? Now, don’t be too pessimistic. Amazon has now released the latest version of the Kindle: the Kindle Paperwhite, which of course has been upgraded and adapted to today’s era. Some of the features that have been upgraded include a bigger screen, wireless charging, USB-C, an adjustable color temperature, an additional LEDs for more consistent backlighting.
Now, after knowing a little about the spefifications of the latest version of the Kindle Paperwhite, let’s move on to the main benefits that you will get and reasons why that buying Kindle Paperwhite during the pandemic is worth it:
1. A Simple, Comfortable, and Lightweight Device
Kindle Paperwhite has been made in such a way that users feel comfortable. Just imagine when you want to bring your book to fill your spare time while waiting in line for vaccines at the hospital, but the book is too heavy to carry. Very helpful, isn’t it?
2. A little treat to your eyes, an “Eye Friendly Device”
When you read your favorite novel in a dark room, you will need light for it. But if you’re using a Kindle Paperwhite, you don’t have to worry about that because the Kindle Paperwhite has its own light and is friendly to the eyes because it’s made with e-ink technology that doesn’t emit blue light.
3. Read all your documents here
Besides reading novels, the Kindle Paperwhite can also be used to read other files such as comics, articles, personal files, or converted pdf files.
4. Long-life Battery
Are you worried about having to charge it continuosly to use your Kindle for a long time? Say no more! This latest Kindle Paperwhite has a faster-charging speed than the previous version. It only takes you 2.5 hours to charge, and the Kindle Paperwhite is ready to use for up to 10 weeks.
5. Borrow books from the library just with one-touch
As I said earlier, many public places are closed at this time including libraries. No worries, you can still borrow books on the Kindle Paperwhite from your favourite library. Chicago Public Library, anyone?
So, what do you guys think? All the features shown above show that reading e-books is not that bad. Moreover, the Kindle Paperwhite device make us feel as if we are holding a physical book, but equipped with advanced features.
